Abstract

Introduction. Considerable attention is paid to the nutrition of servicemen, as it directly affects the physical and psychological condition, and as a consequence, the performance of combat missions. It has been established that little research has been conducted to study the peculiarities of the nutrition of servicemen of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, the training and combat training of this type of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is accompanied by significant physical and psycho-emotional stress, which increases the requirements for the diet and updates this study.

The purpose. To carry out a hygienic assessment of the nutritional composition of the actual average daily diet of servicemen of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Materials and methods. The calculation of the energy and nutritional value of the actual daily diet of servicemen of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on weekly layouts of products of military units using tables of chemical composition of food.

Results. It was found that the ratio of proteins, fats and carbohydrates in the actual diet by weight was 1: 1.04: 3.8 and did not meet the physiological norm determined by the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for employees of group 5 physical activity (especially heavy physical labor). At an average daily weight of protein in the actual diet of 140 ± 4.0 g, there was a suboptimal content of essential amino acids in it. The fat quota in the average daily diet was 146.6 ± 5.7 g, satisfying 95% of the norms established by the above order (154 g). The carbohydrate content was 525 ± 12.3 g, which is 10.4% lower than the normalized value of the order (586 g). Analysis of the vitamin and microelement composition of the actual diet showed a lack of vitamins C and PP, as well as a reduced amount of trace elements - Ca (calcium) by 27% and J (iodine) by 80%, which can have negative consequences for the military.
