Studying toxicological properties of the developed soft drugs

Keywords: toxicological research; MDM-ointment, wound bandage and cryogel.

Abstract

Introduction Modern approach to therapy of wounds assumes healing of a wound surface, use of bandages which were intended for closing of wounds for the purpose of prevention of pollution. For today the pharmaceutical market offers a set of products in the form of bandages depending on type and a phase of a wound. When developing new drugs a necessary stage is performing preclinical trials on establishment of degree of its danger at various ways of receipt to an organism. In this regard there is a need of carrying out studying toxicological properties of the developed drugs, namely: MDM ointment, wound bandage and cryogel. It also caused relevance of carrying out our research.

The purpose – to study toxicological properties of the developed soft drugs (MDM ointment, a wound bandage and cryogel).

Materials and methods. Within a pharmacological method of a research, warm-blooded animals – white rats, white mice, guinea pigs were used, stole Shinshil's breeds according to the corresponding techniques.

Results. In article results of studying acute toxicity for obtaining toxicological property of the developed drugs and also for clarification of degree of their harmlessness are provided. Considering that MDM ointment, the wound bandage and cryogel are means for external use, their potential toxic impact at various ways of receipt to an organism according to requirements of GOST 12.1.007-76 was studied. During the entire period of observation (14 days) at animals after receiving MDM ointment, a wound bandage and cryogel any clinical symptoms of intoxication were not noted. The outward, behavior of animals, consumption of food and water did not differ by them from such at animals of control group. By the author it is established that putting MDM ointment, a wound bandage and cryogel at one-time contact with skin of animals does not cause local irritative action (the 4th hazard class according to GOST 12.1.007-76). The conducted researches on identification of the sensibilizing effect of the worked drugs with testing for the 10 and 20 day showed that all animals had a negative reaction of skin: the skin of animals was clear, usual color, without irritation, an ulcer and hypostasis.

Conclusions.  Results of the toxicological researches conducted by us and these literatures allow to note that the developed soft drugs do not contain the toxics which are not allowed for use in pharmaceutical industry and meet hygienic requirements according to GOST 12.1.007-76. The received results allow to draw a conclusion that MDM ointment, the wound bandage and cryogel do not show resorptive and toxic action at receipt in an organism.
