Assessment of health state of servicemen as one of phathes of their nutrition norming
Abstract
Introduction. State of individual and collective health of servicemen is one of the most important factors of troops battle readiness. It is considered that incidence rates are important for assessment of health state of organized groups of people including military units. Analysis of incidence rates among servicemen of Special Operations Forces of Ukraine Armed Forces and corresponding development of effective preventive measures (including ensuring their rational nutrition) to save health and prevent development of pathological conditions is very actual task that provides more effective planning and organization of medical support of servicemen.
The aim of research. Determination of peculiarities of servicemen health state of Special Operations Forces of Ukraine Armed Forces that must be taken into account for correction of norms of their nutrition.
Matherial and methods of research. Medical reports on 2/med form of military units for 2020-2021 provided by Command of Special Operations Forces of Ukraine Armed Forces and summarized medical reports on 2/med form of Special Operations Forces of Ukraine Armed Forces and Ukraine Armed Forces for 2020-2021 provided by Command of Medical Forces of Ukraine Armed Forces.
The results of research. It was revealed that incidence rates among officers of Special Operations Forces in 2020-2021 were: 719,53‰ and 660,36‰ on respiratory diseases, 135,3‰ and 135,69‰ on acute respiratory disease Covid-19, 168,46‰ and 179,28‰ on diseases of musculoskeletal system. It was also assessed that incidence rates among servicemen of contract service of Special Operations Forces in 2020-2021 were: 798,14‰ and 790,07‰ on respiratory diseases, 247,39‰ and 241,28‰ on diseases of musculoskeletal system. The mentioned incidence rates exceeded the corresponding generalized indexes for Ukraine Armed Forces.
Reported increased trauma levels, especially among officers, is another feature of military service in Special Operations Forces. At the same time, the analysis of average daily nutrition ration of servicemen of contract service of Special Operations Forces concluded insufficient content of vitamins (29%) and PP (9%), as well as reduced amount of Ca (calcium) (27%) and J (iodine) (80%) that may cause negative impact on health of servicemen.
Conclusions. Peculiarities of structure of general morbidity of servicemen of analyzed Special Operations Forces military units were increased incidence rates of respiratory diseases and diseases of musculoskeletal system that exceeded generalized data for Ukraine Armed Forces in 2020-2021.
The obtained results of research can be basis for correction of nutrition ration of servicemen of Special Operations Forces of Ukraine Armed Forces in order to optimize content of vitamins and minerals that can decrease risk of actual diseases for this category of servicemen.
