Standardization in Ukrainian health care domain

Abstract

The purpose of the work is`study the current state of standardization in the field of health care both for the provision of high-quality medical and pharmaceutical care to the population, and for the focused development of a system of military medical standards.

Materials and methods. Legislative and regulatory acts of Ukraine on health care and standardization, as well as scientific articles devoted to issues of standardization in the field of health care, were used. The object of research is the health care system of Ukraine. The subject of research is standardization in the field of health care. Research methods: bibliographic, analytical, systemic approach, generalization, prognostic.

Results. The implementation of standardization in the field of health care was studied, the requirements of the legislative and regulatory acts of the state, which determine its order, were studied and analyzed. It was established that in the process of adapting the domestic legislation to the normative acts of the European Union, all ISO 9000 series standards were adopted in Ukraine as state ones and their introduction into the everyday activities of the health care sector was organized. In addition, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine organized the development of national standards in the field of health care and their implementation in the practice of domestic health care institutions.

Conclusions.  It was established that in the process of adapting domestic legislation to the regulations of the European Union, all ISO 9000 series standards were adopted in Ukraine as state ones and their implementation into everyday activities was organized, in particular in the field of health care. In addition, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine organized the development of national standards in the field of health care and their implementation in the practice of domestic health care institutions. It is emphasized the need to apply in the practice of providing medical care to servicemen the standards of medical care adopted in the state (medical standards) and other standards in the field of health care, as well as the development and implementation of one's own military medical standards in everyday activities as an important tool for quality assurance medical and pharmaceutical aid and provision of medical and pharmaceutical services in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the defense forces. The results of the standardization study in the field of health care of Ukraine should become the methodological basis for the development of the system of military medical standards in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the defense forces.
