Abstract

The purpose: analysis of modern threats of using weapons of mass destruction on the territory of Ukraine and scientific generalization of topical issues of special treatment in medical units of military units and health care facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in conditions of chemical, biological, radioactive contamination.

Materials and methods. The analysis of domestic and foreign sources of scientific information highlighting various aspects of the use of weapons of mass destruction in modern wars and armed conflicts is carried out. The features of chemical, biological, radioactive contamination when using chemical, biological and nuclear weapons and the basis of chemical, biological, radiation, nuclear protection in medical units of military units and health care facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are considered. The following methods of scientific research are applied: analytical, historical, bibliographic, system and information approach.

Results. It has been proven that there is an extremely high probability of chemical and radioactive contamination of the territory of Ukraine when the Russian invaders use chemical and nuclear weapons and deliberately destroy the critical infrastructure of the nuclear power industry and chemical industry. The lack of industrial capacity for the production of means of special treatment and the inability of the military-industrial complex to update morally obsolete and outdated relevant military property and equipment, which is used for carrying out special treatment, significantly complicates the chemical, biological, radiation, nuclear protection of medical units of military units and security institutions the health of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in conditions of chemical, biological, radioactive contamination, provision of modern means of special processing. In order to urgently create reserves of medical and logistical resources for special processing in order to ensure the protection of personnel, it is proposed to purchase them in NATO countries or receive them as part of a lend-lease or humanitarian aid. In the future, to solve the issues of developing domestic material and technical resources and means of special processing - the development and approval of the state concept of providing material and technical resources with means of special processing to medical units, parts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and institutions of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine involved in provision of emergency medical aid at various stages, which should provide for the approval of the modern nomenclature of the indicated resources of means, the order of creation, storage, distribution and use of their reserve, with the involvement of specialized scientific and scientific-practical institutions and institutions of Ukraine.

Conclusions. It has been proven that there is a high probability of chemical and radioactive contamination of the territory of Ukraine when the Russian invaders use chemical and nuclear weapons and deliberately destroy the critical infrastructure of the nuclear power industry and chemical industry. Unresolved issues regarding the provision of special processing in medical units, military units and health care facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in conditions of chemical and radioactive contamination were identified, such as the lack of scientific developments and industrial (military-industrial) capacities for the production or updating of relevant material and technical resources and means of special processing. Ways to solve them are proposed, both for the urgent creation of reserves of material and technical resources and means of special processing, and for the future to solve the issues of developing domestic material and technical resources and means of special processing.
