Abstract

The purpose: The purpose of the article is to determine directions for improving the defense system of the defense forces, in conditions of radiation and chemical contamination during the enemy's use of weapons of mass destruction and man-made emergencies in the event of the destruction (accidents) of potentially dangerous objects due to the refinement of the CBRN system of protection by functional component , determination of the risks of carrying out combat tasks of the armed confrontation of the defense forces of Ukraine against the Russian Federation, which can be reduced by carrying out the tasks of the CBRN defense and carrying out their classification.

Materials and methods. The article uses methods of system analysis, quantification, taxonomy, and a risk-oriented approach.

Results. The analysis of the latest governing documents of the State, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine showed that they do not reveal the definition and essence of the system of military protection, especially in conditions of chemical, biological, radiological contamination . At the same time, five capabilities have been implemented, the development of which will ensure the protection of troops (forces) from CBRN threats, strengthen protection against the enemy's high-precision weapons, and provide the ability to fire damage to the enemy using flame-throwing weapons. Based on the results of the systematic analysis of CBRN protection and the use of a risk-oriented approach, directions for increasing the direct level of protection of the defense forces of Ukraine in the conditions of possible CBRN threats were considered.

Conclusions. An analysis of the CBRN system of protection by functional components was carried out; in accordance with the tasks of the CBRN defense against the existing threats of the combat situation, the risks were determined and their taxonomy was carried out. CBRN risk assessment of threats according to the Threat Matrix is proposed; the proposed direction of increasing the level of protection of the defense forces of Ukraine in the conditions of possible CBRN threats.
